When is my baby ready for baby solid food.
Your baby will give your clear signs when they are ready to progress from a liquid only diet. The signs to look for include:
* able to sit up supported and able to hold there head.
* May seem interested in your food, and watch you intently as you eat.
*Losses the tongue thrust reflex (extrusion reflex). This enables baby to swollow easily, and not use there tongue to push food back out of there mouth.
* Will seem more hungry, will not seem satisfied with milk feeds anymore.
* May start waking in the night for feeds again when they have previously been sleeping through.
* Weight gain may start to slow down or stop.
If you think that you baby may be ready for solid foods speak to a health proffesional and remember not to start giving solids to a baby yonger than 4 months.
